Some of you know, that I do drawings in my meditations in the mornings. This morning this woman emerged. She came to remind me that I have been sexually perpetrated a man in power, my boss, a general manager at my father’s company and I said nothing. I wonder how many other women are out there feeling the same as I do right now, who didn’t speak up at the time. I was in my twenties. Would my father have believed me? This man was someone my father truly looked up to and was very dependent upon. If I told would it have forced my father to choose between me and him? Yet he was constantly, constantly making comments about women and more. I guess it’s been in there waiting to come out and I’m grateful for that. And it’s a great reminder that secrets make us sick. I’t’s so important to not hide. To teach our daughters AND our sons to be vocal and stand up for themselves. Each and every one of us deserves that.
